APPEARANCE
Any sample provided is to be seen as a guide and not a guarantee of the final product’s appearance.
Due to the nature of the material, manufacturing, curing and finishing processes each item produced will be unique and individual in appearance. Efforts will be made to produce continuity for items of a single project or order where applicable. Variations in product appearance, colour, and texture are considered to be part of the natural beauty of the material and are not seen as defects.
The use of sealers to protect the surface does not constitute a guarantee that the surface will not stain/etch or allow liquids to penetrate.
Sealers are used to help prevent staining and liquid penetration by providing the Customer time to clean away staining material. It is the Customer’s responsibility, to remain diligent in the removal of possible stain/etch causing or penetrating substances.
Penetration sealers will provide little protection against acid attack.
Sealers can be damaged and may need to be periodically re-applied, this is especially relevant to high use areas and product that are submerged, e.g. basins, bath tubs and water features.
Bespoke sinks/basins are priced assuming a conventional plug or similar simple mechanism is used and the exclusion of an overflow.
Concrete basins etc. may require a topical sealer to help protect the concrete surface from water ingress. Dissolved minerals in the water supply may alter the appearance of the concrete.
Manufacture will not start until drawings/dimensions are signed off or templating has been carried out. Templating is only included if stated within the product specification or at quotation stage.
It is the responsibility of the Customer to make sure the supporting structure is adequate to support the concrete all joints need full support.

EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these Terms caused by events outside our reasonable control (Force Majeure Event).
A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-occurrence, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes (a) civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war; (b) fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster; (c) impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport; (d) impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks.
Our obligations under these Terms are suspended for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, and we will extend the time to perform these obligations for the duration of that period. SAMPLES
Samples may be requested/ordered and subject to charge, and are to be used as a guide to our colours and finishes only. Variations, primarily in aggregate orientation and density should be expected compared to the final piece. Unlike large samples and the actual product, initial samples are not sealed against household chemicals or various foods and so should not be considered representative of stain or scratch resistance of the final product, which is fully sealed.
DIMENSIONS & CUT-OUTS
Specific measurements provided by the Customers that are additional to those agreed during templating must be provided in writing at the time agreed in order for products to be delivered and fitted in the lead times provided after the payment is made.
Any changes to dimensions after the time templates and or measurements taken, may be subject to additional charges.
INSTALLATION
Installation does not include any electrical, gas, plumbing or other works. A tolerance of ± 5mm is to be expected on all measurements taken due to the nature of concrete unless agreed. For kitchen worktops, we require cabinets to be fixed to wall and all be level to within ± 3mm end to end.
SCRATCH RESISTANCE AND SEALING
CastConcrete uses specialist protective sealers to prevent scratching and staining. However, this process is not a guarantee our concrete will not stain or scratch if force is applied to it.
To maintain the surface quality we recommend all spillages are cleaned up as soon as possible and any surface damage is reported immediately for repair. All our products leave our studio with good stain resistance to most food and drink and offer some acid resistance.
WEIGHT
CastConcrete uses Ultra High Performance, Glass-fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC). This allows for greatly reduced weight and increases in strength. There is usually no need to strengthen/reinforce any kitchen units or flooring to support CastConcrete worktops. Contact us for further details.
PRODUCT AFTERCARE
Typically, there is no more aftercare on CastConcrete products, other than general daily cleaning with a mild detergent as you would any other worktop. All food cutting should be carried out on dedicated cutting boards and any damage to the surface of the concrete can normally be repaired and re-sealed. Ideally surfaces should be wiped down as soon as spillages occur, especially for acidic staining agents like vinegar and lemon juice or household cleaners.
